Origins and profiles
Origin hub · DoualaCameroon
The backbone of our origination. Main crop from the Centre, South and South-West regions, known for a balanced, full cocoa flavour with good fat content. We run warehouse and quality infrastructure at the Douala load port and buy directly from cooperatives across the belt.
Volume lane · Abidjan / San PédroCôte d'Ivoire
The world's largest cocoa origin. Ivorian main crop is consistent in volume and quality, suited to high-volume industrial grinding. Sourced through established partners and graded at load port.
Premium grade · Tema / TakoradiGhana
Premium-standard cocoa, traditionally well fermented and dried, with a long reputation for flavour and consistency. Sourced under Ghana Cocobod quality controls.
Flexible base · LagosNigeria
Light-crop and main-crop beans with a flexible origination base. Useful for buyers seeking screen-size variety and alternative loading options.
Crop calendar
- Main crop: October–March across West and Central Africa. The dominant harvest, best fermented and dried.
- Light / mid-crop: April–June, smaller beans, useful for screen-size buyers.
Timing varies by country and rainfall. Confirm availability at enquiry.
Quality and fermentation
Proper fermentation and drying are the foundation of flavour and shelf life. We work with cooperatives on fermentation discipline (typically 5–7 days in two stages) and sun-drying to the moisture target. Beans that do not meet fermentation or moisture are rejected at intake, not shipped and disputed later.
Packaging
- Standard: 60–65 kg jute bags, food-grade polyethylene liner, branded or plain.
- Big bags: 500–1,000 kg polypropylene FIBCs for container loading.
- Pallets: on request for destination handling.
- Markings: lot number, origin, grade, net weight, bag number, as per contract.
Certifications
Certified lots (organic, Fairtrade, Rainforest Alliance / UTZ) are available on request. We do not hold certification claims we cannot document. Where a buyer requires a certified lot, we source against that requirement and provide the certificate chain.
Sample policy
- Pre-shipment samples (2 kg) provided against a firm enquiry.
- Final loading samples retained for 12 months and available on request.
- Counter-samples sealed at loading by independent survey where required.
Buyer applications
Our cocoa is used by:
- Industrial grinders and processors producing liquor, butter and powder.
- Chocolate and confectionery manufacturers requiring consistent bean count and flavour.
- Specialty makers sourcing single-origin, traceable lots.
